These jobs go to the most experienced and trained of six sigma professionals. Green belts are generally selected from within the company, as they have a lesser job importance than black belts, therefore the green belts can keep their current statuses as well as act as green belts. Green belts are not expected to contribute 100% of themselves into implementing six sigma concepts into the company as they have their original jobs to do as well.
To be eligible for a six sigma job a professional will need both academic and work experience in the field. The first factor is to have achieved a six sigma certificate. The certificate can be acquired only after you undergo six sigma training in any of the belts, the best of choice is a six sigma black belt. The training has to be undertaken in genuine, accredited institutions. Apart from having experience in the six sigma field, you might also have some experience in the organization’s field of production. A clear understanding of all the six sigma concepts is necessary which of course comes with the training. Along with these technical capabilities, you also need to have some individual skills like creativity and practicality.
Generally, when a company calls or advertises for a six sigma professional they intend the individual to come into their organization and start a whole new first six sigma project. This is why these jobs mostly go to certified black belts or master black belts. Six sigma experts help to make the quality of the products produced in the company more advanced by using the six sigma techniques.
